Backyard concert to benefit
Farther FOundation
Sunday, may 18 4:00 - 6:00
427 N Harvey Ave, Oak Park
featuring:
Gerald Dowd
For the last 30+ years, drummer/singer/songwriter Gerald Dowd has been described as “the hardest working drummer in Chicago” (Richard Milne, WXRT), working with Grammy-nominated artists such as Robbie Fulks and Justin Roberts, while also playing/recording with Eddie Vedder and Mavis Staples. His solo records of original Americana/roots music have been described as "hook-heavy, cleverly crafted" (No Depression) with songs "that reflect(s) the warmer, earlier period of The Band" (Chicago Sun-Times). His 2023 release "Father's Day" spent months on the Americana charts Top 100, and he continues to share bills with Jeff Tweedy, Ian Hunter, Kasey Chambers and Delbert McClinton.
